Description:
WINDSOR MOUNTAIN INTERNATIONAL SUMMER CAMP (gr 2-8) is a caring, creative community of 175 boys and girls with 65 counselors from all over the world. Nestled in a 4000 acre pristine lakeside wilderness preserve, the camp offers boating, sports, theatre, videography, arts and crafts such as stained glass, pottery and batik, as well as a wide range of outdoor adventure including rock-climbing, camping, kayaking, and a world class ropes course. Music and Theatre festivals highlight on-going activities such as guitar, Jamaican drumming, song-writing, ethnic dance and original multi-media theatre creations. Our integrated ASL program supports deaf campers and staff who offer ASL classes and Deaf centered activities which are fully integrated into the camp environment. Our 2-week New England Adventure program, offered as an extension to our Camp session or as stand-alone program, offers canoeing, hiking, rock-climbing, sea kayaking, camping and farm-stay adventures.
New England Traveling Theatre can also be an addition to a summer camp session, or a stand-alone program, offering intensive theatre workshops, and the opportunity to create an original theatre piece and tour it throughout New England.
Established in 1961, in cooperation with United Nations families, Windsor Mountain leads young people to discover the magic of creating friendships across cultures. Last summer Windsor Mountain represented participants from more than 25 countries and a variety of backgrounds and cultures, which gives campers an opportunity to learn about, understand and make lifetime friends with others from diverse backgrounds within the U.S. and around the world.
